WHMIS Online Training

This Internet-based training program gives forestry employers, supervisors, health and safety committee members, health and safety representatives and general workers a clear understanding of the purpose and intent of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

Using dynamic visuals and full narration, the course provides a comprehensive and interesting flow of information on all the important rights and responsibilities related to WHMIS-controlled products in your workplace. Navigation is simple and an automatic bookmarking feature enables users to log in and out of the training as their schedule allows. The training should take approximately two hours to complete.

Each of the course’s seven modules includes strategically-placed review questions to reinforce learning. The modules cover WHMIS legislation, hazard classes and symbols, WHMIS labels, material safety data sheets, health effects of exposure to WHMIS-controlled products and hazard controls to avoid exposure.Each module ends with a comprehensive test.

The program’s built-in enrolment and record-keeping system enables employers to track the progress of individual employees through the training.
